When guitarist Rudolf Schenker formed the Scorpions in 1965, British Invasion rock ’n’ roll bands were riding a commercial high and leaving their mark on fans and aspiring musicians around the world. The Scorpions announced in 2010 that they would release ‘Sting in the Tail’ as their final album and then head off into the sunset with a farewell tour before retiring from active duty as rockers. But much like many rockers who release “goodbye” albums and embark on sayonara tours, the Scorps were not done stinging, so to speak.
