As of July 17, 2025, most of the dead fish have been cleaned up, and the water has been deemed safe for fishing and pets by Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP).
Fences were destroyed, a live tree was cut down, and trash was recently left behind at the Acton Recreation Area north of Billings, causing thousands in damage.
