America's first national park will have another "first" beginning next month, when the National Park Service plans to launch their first automated, unmanned passenger shuttle.
All of the ticket reservations are made through Recreation.gov, and while the early reservations sold out, those interested in getting access to Going-to-the-Sun road can get tickets beginning May 27.
The two shuttles arrived in Yellowstone National Park on Monday. Park officials will spend the next month training for the official launch on May 24, 2021.
Yellowstone will open select roads and services for the season on April 16, but visitors should be prepared for delays in parts of the park that are undergoing road construction, and changes in traffic patterns.
For 2021, most of the boating and fishing permit fees will be doubling in price from last year, according to the new fee schedule announced by the NPS.
If you're hoping to get a campsite in America's first national park, advance reservations will begin in a few weeks at 3 additional campgrounds, according to the park's Twitter page.
