With the Smith River lottery open, outdoor lovers are keeping their fingers crossed for a chance to float through some of Montana's most breathtaking scenery.

Due to the extreme flooding across Southern Montana last month, Conservation Districts across Montana are seeing influxes of emergency permits for stream-modification work from homeowners needing to do work after the flooding.

There are some animals that are illegal to own in Montana, but lions and tigers aren't on that list.
