It turns out you can’t describe the president as “vile” and “evil” and say things like “We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November” without catching the attention of a few government agencies. Ted Nugent‘s comments at an NRA Convention have brought him under the watch of the U.S. Secret Service.

“If Barack Obama becomes the president in November, again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year,” Nugent said. A spokesman for the Secret Service tells New York Magazine that the security agency is aware of the remarks and will “conduct an appropriate follow up.”

While Democrats are petitioning to have Mitt Romney denounce Nugent’s endorsement after hearing his interview, the rocker stands by his comments. On Tuesday he was interviewed by conservative radio talker Dana Loesch. “I spoke at the NRA and will stand by my speech. It’s 100 percent positive,” Nugent said.

“The Secret Service are my buddies, they work for me. I pay their salaries,” Nugent told Loesch before going on to explain their relationship and the training he’s done with them in Texas. Needless to say, he’s not concerned.

“I’m a black Jew at a Nazi-Klan rally,” the Motor City Madman adds. “And there are some power-abusing, corrupt monsters in our federal government that despise me because I have the audacity to speak the truth.”

The entire 13 and a half minute interview can be heard below, but Nugent makes it clear he doesn’t pose a physical risk to anyone. “I’ve never in my life threatened anyone’s life. I’m incapable of threatening anyone’s life,” he said, before concluding, “People who disagree with Ted Nugent are idiots!”
