‘The Walking Dead’ Invades ‘Conan’ For Atlanta Taping, Merle Lives!
Conan O'Brien has been curiously silent about today's big 'Tonight Show' shake-up, but it seems the zombie apocalypse outside his recent Atlanta production may have taken precedence. Following Sunday's big 'The Walking Dead' season 3 finale "Welcome to the Tombs," several of the cast invaded the Tuesday episode of 'Conan' in character, with impressively hilarious results. The wait for 'The Walking Dead' season 4 seems criminally long after this past Sunday's finale, but it seems the series has come back from the dead in more ways than one. A video making the rounds today from last night's episode of 'Conan' sees Michael Rooker and Melissa McBride bursting into an Atlanta taping of Conan O'Brien's late-night series, reprising their characters of Carol and Merle in search of refuge from the walkers outside.
The pair trade words with a confused Conan, before accidentally firing on a number of his crew, Andy Richter included. Shrugging off the bullet wounds, Richter jokes "I've been dead inside for years." Of course, we won't argue with the fact that Rooker's character Merle Dixon perished some weeks prior, as we had much larger quarrels with the season finale anyway.
