The flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang only takes about an hour. That’s not nearly long enough for  a movie, but the folks at VietJetAir were able to come up with a far superior way to keep their passengers entertained.

What you are about to see is called a “Hawaiian Dance.” With a little luck it will soon be standard on all flights.

According to a VietJetAir official, the dancing girls were there to “make passengers happy and to improve our customer service.” Yup, he gets it.

While one would think the Vietnamese government would be thanking VietJetAir for bringing glory to the Asian nation with its innovative in-flight entertainment strategy, the airline was actually fined $1,000 by the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam for the stunt.

But don’t worry, bikini fans, the fine wasn’t for the scantily clad women and their gyrations. Instead it was simply because they didn’t get pre-approval for the unique air show.

By the way, Vietnam is quite beautiful this time of year. We know, we’ve flown up and back between Ho Chi Minh City and Nha Trang eleven times already.
