As one of the resident foodies at TSM Billings, I go out of my way to try as many new things and places as possible. And I'm not afraid to tell it as I see it when I get food from a restaurant, shop, or food truck that isn't quite right.

Does Billings Have "Bland" Food?

One thing I rarely say is "My food is bland". I love everything from over-the-top gourmet-style dishes, to a simple steak with S&P on it. Though, that comes from childhood I suppose... where some nights our dinner option was mac & cheese with a bologna sandwich.

But, with that thought... I decided to search through Yelp and look at what reviewers have said about local restaurants over time. No holds barred. From the fanciest place to the smallest mom-and-pop shop... here's what I found.

"Bland" Food In Billings... In No Particular Order

Before we dive in, I want to stress that these are reviews DIRECT from Yelp. And, I will include my own thoughts on the review... If I have a leg to stand on. Some of these places I have not had the pleasure of trying as of yet. Also, I am not diving back more than 5 years on reviews. Things change in time, and I want to be as fair as possible.

406 Kitchen & Taproom

My Take - I've had 406 a handful of times for lunch. I've never ordered a noodle dish or chicken. I've had the Fish & Chips, and the Blackened Shrimp Tacos. Both were amazing. As for servers sticking their hands in the dish... I have nothing to say.

Sophie's Kitchen

City Brew Coffee

My Take - The food I've gotten from City Brew in our tower has always been decent. Though, if I had any critique about it... it would be that there are essentially no condiments to get. And my food has never been hard.

India Grill

My Take - I've had India Grill a LOT, but... I've never had Indian food from anywhere else. So, maybe it is bland when compared to other options. I like it.
