The film ‘Rock of Ages‘ may have had a bad opening week at the box office, but the tour of the same name featuring Def Leppard, Poison and Lita Ford fared a little better last night (June 20) as it got underway at the USANA Amphitheater in West Valley City, Utah.
Gene Simmons may like to boast that he’s never been drunk or high in his life, but he’s about to get ‘Tanked.’ Kiss will appear on the next episode of ‘Tanked,’ a show on the Animal Planet cable channel. The program will center on the owners of the Las Vegas-based Acrylic Tank Manufacturing company as they build a giant Kiss-themed aquarium for the band’s Monster Mini Golf course in Vegas.

Few bands have owed a greater debt to the Rolling Stones than Aerosmith. From the bluesy, riff-based rock to the dynamic between Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, they were originally seen by some as little more than Stones rip-offs. But on last week’s episode of ‘Saturday Night Live,’ Mick Jagger turned the tables by doing an impression of Tyler.
We’re still getting more tributes to Booker T. and the MGs bassist Donald “Duck” Dunn, who passed away Sunday morning at the age of 70. The latest one comes from Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament, who, in 2007, put Dunn’s name into the neck of one of his basses. On the band’s website, Ament shared a picture of the bass as well as his rememberances of seeing Dunn up close every night while opening up for Neil Young in 1993.
In the last decade of his life, Levon Helm opened up his home in Woodstock, N.Y. for his Midnight Ramble concerts. Therefore, it’s fitting that it will be the site of a memorial for him. Friends and fans are invited to attend.

Following his recent controversial statements about President Barack Obama, Ted Nugent will be questioned by the Secret Service on Thursday.
