I was born in the southern U.S. and raised by a 21 year Marine Corps Vietnam Vet and his hard working, successful, Tennessee born bride. They set the bar pretty high for their three kids...so I decided to just walk under it and go into radio at age 16. After years of "town to town, up and down the dial", I made my way to Billings in 2005. That turned out to be the best decision I ever made. It lead to a great job, and the love of my life, my daughter, Eliana. I'm happy to be raising her in a place with a great mix of conservative family values and progressive ideas about inclusion and embracing the differences in people (provided they are not too liberal or from California).

Forget the BLT, the BAT is Better
I'm not a huge fan of lettuce, so this is most definitely a biased review, but I say you should upgrade that B.L.T. Ditch the lettuce and go with avocado. I understand this recipe won't win me a spot in this year's Bacon Fest, but it's sound advice nonetheless...
Here’s My Favorite New Halloween Prank
If you're one of those sadistic people who loves to terrify their friends and family, check out the "Scary Tapping Peeper." This thing would probably make me jump out of my skin. Basically, it's a latex face that you suction cup to the outside of a window, ideally with the head just at the base of the sill...
Why Gun Control is the Wrong Conversation [Opinion]
In regard to the title of this post, I am referring specifically to these mass shootings that are plaguing our nation. I know that these crimes account for a relatively small percentage of the overall gun fatalities in our country, but these are the crimes that elicit the biggest emotional response from the public at large and inevitably lead to gun control debates...
Riverstone Health Extends Hours To Keep Up With Required Vaccinations
This year, it became Montana law that school children receive the chickenpox vaccination.
As of Oct. 1, students attending public schools in Montana were required to be vaccinated against chickenpox -- and receive a booster of pertussis (whopping cough) vaccine at seventh grade...
Trick-Or-Treat for Troops This Halloween
Once again this year, Brewer Dental Center is offering to buy your Halloween Candy for $1 a pound. In addition to knowing that you might be saving yourself some extra pounds or cavities, you can also know that your candy will be shipped off to our troops overseas via Operation Gratitude...
Reusable Matches Are a Bad Idea [Opinion]
A few years ago, I bought a "reusable match" off of a Hong Kong website known for selling unusual items. Basically, it's a metal, match-shaped tube with a wick at the end. The match screws into a flask-shaped container full of fluid. On the outside of the "flask" is a rough surface which sparks the flint embedded in the wick...
My Three Not So Secret Chili Ingredients Revealed
Just about every guy I know thinks they make a mean pot of chili and I am no exception. Of course, in my case, I'm right; my chili is awesome.
I thought since we're about to enter chili season, I'd share the three ingredients that help give my chili its incredible flavor...
Nation’s First Marijuana Resort Just a Ten-Hour Drive From Billings
The nation's first marijuana resort is scheduled to open this New Year's Eve in Flandreau, S.D. The resort is being constructed by the Santee Sioux tribe who has already had great success in the casino business.
South Dakota is not a state where marijuana has been decriminalized...
Get Your Team Ready For Some Nighttime Ballin’
Whether you're a player or a spectator, make plans to check out Night Under the Lights for the first time in Big Sky Country. This 3-on-3 basketball tournament takes place at the Shrine Auditorium with a couple of notable twists that set it apart from the annual Above the Rim Tournament...
Man Uses Raccoon To Bypass Breathalyzer Equipped Car
Most Montanans are smart enough not to drink and drive, but statewide the statistics are grim. Anytime we have a story involving a drunken driver injuring or killing someone, many residents speak up and demand the maximum punishment possible...
Please Stop Crying on TV
If I had my way, the FCC would fine networks for excessive crying. It's gotten out of hand. People cry on TV now at the drop of a hat. I mean, I'm not heartless, so I get that sometimes emotions can get out of control, but some of these shows just seem to coax gratuitous crying for no good reason...
My Ghostly Encounter and the Science That Explains It
As Halloween approaches, we will soon be inundated with ghostly images and supernatural stories. Personally, I am not a believer in ghosts. I would love to see one, but I am certain that will never happen.
There was, however, an event that happened to me when I was 16 that made me question my disbelief in ghosts walking the earth...
