A half-minute clip of the new Van Halen single ‘Tattoo‘ has premiered on Amazon UK‘s website. The full song is expected to be released next Tuesday, Jan. 10 as the next major step in the massive promotional campaign that has unfolded on the band’s behalf in the last few days.
Pink Floyd has revealed the audio and video tracklist for the seven-disc “Immersion Edition” box set of their 1979 opus ‘The Wall.’ Much like last year’s tricked-out versions of ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ (reviewed here) and ‘Wish You Were Here,’ this set, which hits stores Feb. 28, also comes packed with goodies like photos, marbles and a scarf.
Van Halen re-emerged from a long hiatus with a short, sweaty and generally fantastic concert at a small club in New York City tonight (Jan. 5). They also premiered a brand-new and extremely catchy song, ‘She’s the Woman,’ halfway through their set.
Guns N’ Roses, the Small Faces / Faces, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Donovan have all been voted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They are joined by The Beastie Boys and Laura Nyro. The ceremony will be held in Cleveland, Ohio on April 14th.
Sin City, the rumors are true! Motley Crue announced that they will be performing a residency at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in February of 2012. For their sakes, we can only be grateful this didn’t happen 30 years ago, before they become more responsible adults.
The full version of Karen O and Trent Reznor’s cover of Led Zeppelin‘s ‘Immigrant Song’ has emerged. It is, as you’d hope and expect, faithful to the spirit of the original and yet built very differently.
Paul McCartney and Bruce Springsteen were among the relatively small group of classic rockers nominated for 2012 Grammy Awards tonight (Nov. 30). None of them were mentioned on the hour-long televised nominations program, which consisted largely of pop and country music performances.
Rob Halford of Judas Priest was kind enough to phone us up for an interview recently, and despite all the talk about the band’s current trek being the last major Priest tour, it’s obvious from the energy and passion the singer spoke with about their future plans that the “Metal Gods” aren’t going away anytime soon.
