Billings Logan International Airport set records in 2018 with their highest passenger total in six years.  904,873 passengers used commercial airline service last year compared to 853,559 in 2017.

Director of Aviation and Transit Kevin Ploehn credited the "strong local economy, a better year in the agricultural sector, a proactive marketing program by Visit Billings, and the expanded air service that Billings has seen over the past couple of years" for the increase in passenger load.

Billings Logan International serves as a transfer hub for freight shipped around the state and showed 18.8% growth in cargo that came through the airport in 2018.  BIL also welcomed one of the world's largest cargo planes last year when a Russian Antonov An-124 made five stops to pick up 400,000 pounds of relief supplies that were delivered to the U.S. territory of Saipan after a typhoon devastated the area.
