Bob Dylan’s ‘Blood on the Tracks’ to Be Turned Into Motion Picture

One of Rolling Stone magazine’s Top 20 albums of all time will be made into a feature film. The rights to adapt Bob Dylan‘s painful but brilliant ‘Blood on the Tracks’ album into a full-length motion picture were acquired by a Brazilian film production company that plans to make it into an English language movie.

Bad Ass Digest reports that RT Features is looking for a filmmaker to create an on-screen drama out of Dylan’s mournful songs. “As long time admirers of one of the greatest albums in the history of music, we feel privileged to be making this film,” RT Features’ Rodrigo Teixeira said. “Our goal is to work with a filmmaker who can create a classic drama with characters and an environment that capture the feelings that the album inspires in all fans.”

‘Blood on the Tracks’ was released in 1975, and features well-known Dylan songs like ‘Tangled Up in Blue’ and ‘Shelter From the Storm.’ It was recorded after a separation from his wife and is all about heartbreak. “A lot of people tell me they enjoy that album. It’s hard for me to relate to that,” Dylan said. “I mean, it, you know, people enjoying that type of pain, you know?”

The album has been certified double platinum after spending two weeks atop the Billboard charts over 27 years ago. There is no timeframe for when this movie may be completed.
