This summer, some of the biggest names in music — including Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney — are pooling their talents together to help raise funds and awareness for WhyHunger’s ‘Summer Meals Rock for Kids‘ program.

“We are thrilled to have so many artists, activists and friends rallying around the Summer Meals Rock for Kids campaign to ensure that all kids have access to healthy meals to keep their bodies and minds active this summer,” said Bill Ayres of WhyHunger. “We believe that everyone, especially our children, should have the right to nutritious food and are fighting for a day when every American has that right.”

In addition to Springsteen and McCartney, WhyHunger has also brought Jackson Browne, the Eagles, Chicago, Fleetwood Mac and others into the fold. Throughout their tours this summer, they will offer special tickets and meet-and-greets to those who contribute.

Although his tour has already ended, Springsteen raised more $41,000 for WhyHunger this spring, in part through a t-shirt with the cover photo from ‘Born to Run’ on the front and the WhyHunger logo on the back.

WhyHunger was founded in 1975 by Ayres and the late Harry Chapin to fight the causes of hunger, poverty and injustice. For more information, visit their website.
