On Saturday, Sept. 19, your kids will be encouraged to deface public property. That's right -- Chalk on the Walk is back.

In case you're not familiar, this event invites everyone to come do some chalk art on the sidewalks of downtown Billings on Third Avenue starting near North 27th Street at Soup 'n Such and Billings First Church, including sidewalks by the Broadway Deli & Café, stretching past 29th Street by the Big Sky Imaginarium and New Attitude Salon.

The art is typically a mix of different talent levels, from professional artists to preschoolers, so don't feel like you need to be da Vinci to participate.

A couple of important things to keep in mind:

  • The event will take place, rain or shine
  • Bring your own supplies (chalk, water, knee pads, etc.)

This year's theme is "Harvest" as we head toward the Fall equinox, so bring your orange, browns and imagination to this event. If you're not the type who likes to draw, you can certainly come check out the creations of this year's participants.
