When most people think of country rock, the band Mason Proffit doesn't typically come to mind.  However, had their albums been released on a larger label, they may have been considered one of the founding bands of country rock, defining a sound and style way before their time.

Founding members and brothers Terry Talbot and John Michael Talbot never saw much commercial success with the multiple albums they released between 1969 and 1974.  Listen to Sam Talkington explain how success eluded this great band that had Sam picking up the flat-top guitar.
