No matter where you finish, Opening Ceremonies is the place to start! The Friday, July 15, 2016 Opening Ceremonies of the 31st Annual Big Sky State Games, sponsored by Wendy’s, will be a colorful evening packed with exciting family entertainment.

The 2016 Special Guest and Torch Ligher is still to be determined.

Festivities kick off with SOAKED, a non-timed two mile crazy fun water walk/run around and through Pioneer Park. Other happenings include a fun fair, inflatables, climbing wall, XPogo, sponsor booths, and other interactive events. The first 500 people in the gate eat free! It's truly a night for the whole family!

The Ceremony officially begins at 7:30pm. The program includes Parade of Athletes (walk in the parade and receive a commemorative State Games gift), entertainment, the Men's and Women's Montana Mile (fastest milers in Montana), and traditional torch lighting by an Olympic athlete.

The Big Sky State Games is an Olympic-style amateur sports festival for people of all ages and abilities that reside in the Great State of Montana. Residents in bordering states that do not have State Games are invited to participate (Idaho, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming). The Games are a member of the National Congress of State Games and recognized by the United States Olympic Committee.

Whether you want to compete in the games or simply participate as a spectator, it's a fun time for all!
