Additional Information

Since 1932, youth, adults, and families have been going to Camp Mimanagish, right on the Boulder River south of Big Timber. Set among the pine trees on US Forest Service land, this rustic camp consists of cabins of various sizes, a Chapel with huge window showing pine trees above and behind the stage, dining hall, bathhouse, buildings for meetings and craft projects, and the “Place of the Most High.” Mimanagish means “singing waters.” In camp one always can hear the river and also the rustling of pine trees swaying overhead. Many traditions in youth camps continue, and former campers return for marriages, family reunions, and the like. Adults enjoy learning new-to-them creative arts, engaging in lively spiritual discussions, or casting a line in the river.

To raise money for needed improvements, the Columbus Community Congregational Church is hosting a community fundraiser for Camp Mimanagish, featuring a pulled pork dinner, Cash’s Country Music, silent auction & raffle items.

It’s this Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018. Doors open 5 pm at Stillwater Little Metra, 328 W. 5th Ave. N, Columbus MT 59019. Cost $20. Silent auction & raffle sales 5-8 pm, Dinner 6 pm. Live classic & current country and classic rock music, 7-9 pm. The Silent auction includes wonderful items, such as a Ducks Unlimited bronze, fly-fishing lesson, wine baskets, jewelry from Montana Silversmiths and Montana Gen, framed outdoor art for your wall, massages, and much more.
