Q2 reports that 51-year-old Steven Kueffler, the man accused of leading Billings police on a chase after shooting a woman in June of 2017, pleaded guilty to those charges on Tuesday in Yellowstone County District Court.

He’ll be sentenced for one count each of attempted deliberate homicide, felony criminal endangerment and misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol. According to a plea agreement, prosecutors plan to recommend a sentence totaling more than 55 years in prison– 40 years for attempted murder, 10 for the weapons charge and 5 for DUI.

The incident occurred in the area of Fourth Avenue North last year. When police arrived, they found a woman with a gunshot wound to the head. The victim told officers she had been driving when someone pulled up next to her and fired several shots into her vehicle.
