"Love Gone Wrong" Story Submission – "False Advertising"

It’s February, and Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching!  We’re celebrating the holiday by featuring our listeners’ worst dating stories.  We’re kicking off our “Love Gone Wrong” series with a cautionary tale of online dating.  This story submission from a girl we’ll call “Carrie” proves that what you see online isn’t always exactly what you get!

When I lived in Bozeman, I met a man online who had a gorgeous photo of himself. We decided to go out to eat for our first date.

I went in, walked through a bunch of people, and heard my name being called. I turned around and there he was. A man that looked over 60 years old, claimed he was 43, hadn’t even showered, smelled like diesel, and was greasy all over.

I was nice enough to have dinner with him. I asked him “How old is that picture of you?” I knew that what I saw online was definitely not what was in front of me!! He replied, “Oh, about 25 years old.”

After dinner, he politely asked me if I had any condoms! Really, after a first date?!?!  Unbelievable! He said “Well, I did come clear down here to Bozeman from Anaconda.” As if that mattered!

That’s one of the worst dates I ever had. Needless to say, I went home, locked the doors and prayed that I never heard from this idiot again.

Careful with meeting those guys online, ladies!  Maybe you should ask for an updated picture next time, Carrie!

Check back here every day, where we’ll feature a new dating horror story every day through Valentine’s Day!
