Last Best News reports that the new Downtown Strategic Plan will be made public next Tuesday at 8 a.m. in the Royal Johnson Community Room of the Billings Public Library. It’s the product of a year’s worth of work by Billings residents and the consulting firm of Thomas P. Miller and Associates from Indianapolis.

A little more than 20 years after the completion of the original Downtown Billings Framework Plan, the updated, overhauled version of that document will be unveiled. At the library meeting, Katy Easton will be formally introduced as the new chief executive officer of the Downtown Billings Alliance, following the departure of longtime director Lisa Harmon. On that evening, February 20th, the plan will be presented at a City Council work session.

Councilors approved the use of $80,000 in tax increment financing to pay the consultant.
