Dee Snider of Twisted Sister heard the dreaded words “you’re fired” from ‘Celebrity Apprentice‘ boss Donald Trump last night, but only after raising $325,000 for the March of Dimes by winning a challenge earlier in the evening.
Former Journey singer Steve Perry has put a few pieces of band memorabilia up for auction to help the fight against Parkinson’s Disease.
We still don’t know when we’ll hear him play guitar again, but Eddie Van Halen is putting at least one of his axes to good use right now: he’s offering it up for auction, with the proceeds going to benefit the Drop in the Bucket charity — and the winner walking away with a true one-of-a-kind instrument.
The guitar in question is a 1999 Wolfgang Translucent Cherry Sunburst 5A Flametop, autographed by EVH himself and complete with a certificate of authenticity. One of the first Wolfgangs ever produced, it’s been owned by Eddie since it was made.
After spending decades as one of the most recognizable voices in rock — and selling millions of albums along the way — Paul Rodgers is probably a pretty difficult guy to shop for. Through the years, Motley Crue has spent a lot of time rocking Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood, Calif., with the legendary Whisky A Go-Go club among its many haunts.
So if any band deserves to be honored at the 2011 Sunset Strip Music Festival, it’s the Crue. The tribute, set for Aug. 18, is going to involve real whiskey: special-edition bottles of Jack Daniel’s, with proceeds going to a charity that’s very dear to one Crue member.
An attempt to spice up a charity golf tournament in Australia with some sexy models has led to accusations that aren’t typically hurled at sexy models.
Darwin Life magazine, which was sponsoring the seventh hole, decided to staff their area with two scantily-clad representatives. (Not pictured, but you get the idea.) The models, apparently, got a bit frisky.
