Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason hadn’t listened to the band’s demos for ‘The Wall’ in over 30 years — but hearing those sessions again in preparation for the recently-released ‘Experience’ and ‘Immersion‘ box sets brought back a lot of memories.

Brit Floyd are currently in the midst of a large U.S. tour, presenting a full-scale Pink Floyd show based largely on songs from the legendary space-rockers’ recent compilation album ‘A Foot in the Door.’ The tribute group’s much-praised presentation comes complete with light show, inflatables and most importantly, music from the Syd Barrett era right up through ‘The Division Bell.’

In a recent interview to promote the Feb. 28 release of the ‘Immersion’ and ‘Experience’ editions of ‘The Wall,’ Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason put a few longstanding rumors to bed about the atmosphere during the sessions for their 1979 double-album.

Former Pink Floyd rocker Roger Waters has already announced a bunch of dates for his ‘The Wall’ North American summer trek, which is scheduled to kick off May 1 in Houston and run through a July 14 gig in Philadelphia. Pink Floyd has revealed the audio and video tracklist for the seven-disc “Immersion Edition” box set of their 1979 opus ‘The Wall.’ Much like last year’s tricked-out versions of ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ (reviewed here) and ‘Wish You Were Here,’ this set, which hits stores Feb. 28, also comes packed with goodies like photos, marbles and a scarf.

Rumors set the woods alight, and the fire around Pink Floyd has begun. According to the London Evening Standard, the legendary band’s surviving members will reunite to close out the London 2012 Olympics.
