’22 Jump Street’ Poster: Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum Aren’t 21 Anymore
There is no comedy we're looking forward to more in 2014 than the reunion of Schmidt and Jenko, and there's nothing the newly released '22 Jump Street' poster can do to change our minds. The one-sheet could be completely blank and we'd still be excited because '21 Jump Street' remains one of the funniest movies of the past few years, and with everyone back for the sequel our expectations are hight.
'21 Jump Street' was one of 2012' biggest surprise hits, taking a dated TV show and spinning it into comedy gold. It helps that stars Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill have a shocking amount of chemistry and that directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord are geniuses in the truest sense of the word. For those reasons, we have faith that the second outing of undercover police officers Schmidt and Jenko will live up the standards set by Part One.
As teased in the previous film's final moments, '22 Jump Street' finds Hill and Tatum going undercover in a college, and if it's anything like their previous cinematic outing, their relationship will be severely tested as they get waaay too caught up in their new, youthful lifestyles. The poster doesn't lean as heavily on the college elements as the first film did on high school iconography, but it does feature Hill and Tatum standing on a car and firing gold-plated pistols into the air, so it's all good.
