Nothing has been officially confirmed yet, but the rumor mill has started spinning regarding live performances for the 57th annual Grammy Awards. Some of the major names being bandied about include AC/DC and U2.

Vintage Vinyl News reports that the two veteran acts are lined up for the ceremony, scheduled to be held Feb. 8 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, with unnamed sources saying they're "confirmed" as performers, along with Madonna.

The ceremony will serve as a uniquely effective promotional vehicle for all three acts, particularly U2, whose 'Songs of Innocence' is competing for the Best Rock Album Grammy against a tough field that includes Ryan Adams, Beck, and Tom Petty. AC/DC's 'Rock or Bust' will no doubt benefit from a post-Grammys sales bump despite coming out too late to be eligible for an award, and Madonna's next record -- portions of which recently leaked -- is on track for an early-to-mid 2015 release.

Following Grammy tradition, details of the ceremony have been made public in stages; this year's nominees were announced Dec. 5, with the Album of the Year hopefuls named during a primetime 'Very Grammy Christmas' television special. Official word regarding the ceremony's live performances should surface in the coming weeks.
