Billings will be home to WWII aircraft July 10-12 at Billings Logan International Airport. About 12 or so years ago, I was afforded the chance to fly in a B-17 like to one in the picture.  We took off from Billings for a 30 minute flight.  I've always had a love for flying and history of the particular planes.  While in flight you could go to the cockpit, or go down in the lower gun turret.  It was loud and drafty and all I could think about was the young men loaded into these planes going off to war.  They were scared, it was noisy and cold.  You got a real sense of what it probably felt like.  This particular tour that is coming to Billings is the Collings Foundation's Wings of Freedom Tour.  You can check out the inside and outside of these craft; $15 for adults and $5 for kids under 12.  If you have an extra $450 laying around you can have my experience with a 30 minute flight. The aircraft include the B-17, B-24, B-25 and a P-51 Mustang. Call 800-568-8924 for more information.
