Back in July, Visit Billings brought the BMW International Rally to MetraPark. This event drew a huge crowd. The official count was 5,872 in attendance. These visitors poured in from all 50 states along with nine Canadian provinces and nine foreign countries. Quite a diversified crowd.

Big crowds often mean big dollars for the community and this was definitely an economic win. How big of a win? About $4 million.

Additionally, some local charities felt the positive effects of this event. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Yellowstone County received a check for $17,243.

Attendees received nearly $100,000 in door prizes from the various vendors.

Congratulations to Alex Tyson and everyone else at Visit Billings for their success of this event. It was definitely a good thing for our city and local business owners.
