Frisky, Fun-Loving “Hambone” is Ready for Adoption in Billings
Have you ever loved someone so much that you wanted to spend every minute of your day together? That's how I think Hambone feels when it comes to humans. This young dog loves people, and if I had to guess, she really wants to be in love with YOU.

The shelter is calling her a hound mix.
Honestly, Hambone could be any number of breeds, and is likely 100% mutt. I'd love to see her DNA test results. Her markings are vaguely Beagle or Basset Hound-ish, but her body type isn't really either of those. Hambone is just six months old, barely past her puppy stage.
She arrived as a stray.
Poor Hambone was located by a member of the public, roaming the streets of Billings. She's now been at Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter for over a week. We can imagine how sad she must feel, getting passed up as other dogs get adopted.
A medium-sized, intelligent dog.
She'll probably continue to grow a little bit, but it's doubtful she'll get much bigger than her roughly 50 pounds. Hambone seems smart and is treat-motivated. A puppy class and/or some time spent training will make her (and you) happy.
