Our Wet Nose Wednesday Pet ‘Aquafina’ is Gentle and Sweet
Be still, my beating heart. I may have fallen in love with another Wet Nose Wednesday featured pet. Meet Aquafina, a 5-month-old Black Mouth Cur mix. This sweet girl is waiting at Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter for her forever home.
She might be one of the calmest puppies we've ever met.
Five months old isn't exactly a newborn, but this age is still very much the "puppy stage." Dogs under a year old are usually pretty energetic (which is our way of saying naughty, lol), but Aquafina comes across as shockingly well-behaved for her age.
Look at those eyes.
Derek Wulf, Humane Outreach Coordinator at Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter, said Aquafina (and her mom) recently arrived at the shelter as strays. Mom is still recovering from her spay surgery. Both dogs may have been on the run for a bit, as both are somewhat thin.
Aquafina would be an ideal family pet.
This girl is so sweet and gentle that I can't imagine her not fitting in perfectly with any family. Wulf said she does well on a leash, curiously exploring her surroundings, without excessive pulling.

She also LOVED the car ride to our studios. Aquafina takes treats gently and seems bright and intelligent. She's small-ish now, but has big paws; I suspect she'll likely grow into a medium-sized dog when mature, likely around 50 - 60 pounds.

Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter is the largest shelter in Montana. Please consider adopting a pet next time you're looking for a furry friend. Our latest two dogs at my house have come from the shelter, and they have been the absolute best pets.
Thank you, Shipton's Big R, for supporting animal adoption in the Billings area.
