Papa John’s Plans To Close 300 Locations
According to Nation’s Restaurant News and Restaurant Dive, Papa John’s plans to close at least 300 restaurants over the next year.
And it’s not just locations; they’re also letting go of 7% of their corporate staff.
This recent trend of closures isn't just pizza either. Wendy’s has announced they'll be closing stores in 2026 too.
Why Consumers Are Reconsidering Fast Food
From the comments we’ve seen on social media when we’ve shared these stories, a lot of people say fast food just isn’t worth it anymore.
Prices have shot up, but the quality hasn’t improved. In some cases, it’s even worse. That makes it easier to just cook at home or look for better deals elsewhere.
It also might have something to do with how uncertain people feel about the economy right now.
As for right now, no word on if Montana will be losing any Papa John's, but the company did say the majority of the closures would be franchise-owned.
