Montana Gas Prices Look Stable For The Moment
If you’ve filled up your tank recently, you’ve probably noticed gas prices seem more stable than they were a couple of years back. As of February 24, regular gas in Montana averages $2.77 per gallon. That’s just about two cents more than last week. It’s not a big change, but drivers are still noticing it.
Gas Prices Remain Steady With Small Changes
Here’s something that might make you feel a little better when you fill up: compared to this time last year, gas prices are down about 33 cents per gallon, a 11 percent drop. Remember when prices spiked to nearly $5 in 2022? Today’s prices are definitely easier on the wallet.
Diesel Prices See Modest Increase
If your vehicle runs on diesel, or you rely on it for work or hauling, you’ve probably seen prices creep up a bit lately. Right now, Montana’s average is about $3.33 per gallon, which is eight cents higher than last week. Even so, that’s still a little cheaper than a year ago, and far from the nearly $6 peak we saw in 2022.
