According to OpenSnow, Montana, Northern Idaho, and Northern Wyoming are expected to see above-average snowfall this winter. The Old Farmer's Almanac predicts that Montana will experience warmer temperatures during the winter this year, and the coldest temperatures in late November, early December, and early February.

In addition to temperatures, the Almanac also shared its predictions for snowfall.
The snowiest periods will be in late January, early February, and late March.
The truth is, once October arrives, it can snow at any time in Montana. Higher elevations like Big Sky and the Beartooth Highway often see snow before the rest of the state. With colder temperatures moving in, be ready, because the snow isn't far behind.
