Great News! Montana’s First Whole Foods Market Opening Soon

A new Whole Foods location has been under construction in Bozeman for quite some time, and it sounds like the store will officially open in the near future.

Rumors were circulating that the store would open over the summer, but that never happened. An exact opening date hasn't been announced, but a Whole Foods representative told us that the store will open in late January or early February 2023.

Last year, a local group called Bozeman Matters filed an appeal in an attempt to prevent Whole Foods from opening in Bozeman, but the appeal was denied by Bozeman City Commissioners. Since then, the new Whole Foods location has been under construction near the Gallatin Valley Mall.

The addition of Whole Foods Market in Bozeman is part of an ongoing redevelopment at the Gallatin Valley Mall.

Bozeman will be home to the first Whole Foods location in Montana, citing its designation by the U.S. Census Bureau as the fastest-growing small city in the United States.

Bozeman’s economic growth in recent years has been remarkable, and since the advent of COVID-19 and its negative impact on more densely-populated urban areas, we are seeing unprecedented in-migration from major urban markets as companies are making it easier for their employees to work remotely,

said Steve Corning, managing member of Gallatin Mall Group.
