What do you do when your baby cries? Here in Montana, we may go for a drive with them or ever go for a stroll around the block BUT I do not think feeding them BUTTER is a thing we do here. This might sound like bad parenting advice . . . probably because it IS bad advice.

Where do you go for the best advice on how and what to do with your children? TikTok? More than likely not and this right here is a prime example of why NOT to.

If you have a little one you just cannot get to sleep TikTok is here to hurt, I mean help. TikTok claims feeding your baby a spoonful of BUTTER will help them sleep through the night.  But experts say that it is complete nonsense, and even dangerous.  Of course it is dangerous! Butter isn't good for babies, and it can also be a choking hazard.

Some of the TikTok moms have been telling parents to try feeding their baby a spoonful of BUTTER. They claim it helps them sleep through the night.... ummm what?

The trend started with some moms here in the U.S. started the trend, but just like butter it's spread to other countries too. England and New Zealand have jumped on board with this crazy idea.  A lot of tired parents feel like it's worth a shot, and what's the harm? Well, many news sources including the news outlet the Independent warns against this trend.

But experts say there's no reason it would work.  And despite what the women of TikTok say, it is in fact NOT harmless.  That much saturated fat isn't good for anyone no matter their age and especially not good for babies.  And a dollop of butter can also be a serious CHOKING hazard or old and young alike!

It's normal for kids to not sleep through the night, and sort of part of the deal.  So don't be shoving butter in their sweet little crying faces to shut them up.

Oh, and get this! A bunch of parents who've tried it confirmed it didn't work. Ya think?!  So once again, don't believe everything you see on social media. Especially when it comes to your kiddos and their health.
