Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience.
In 2020, after I had been hospitalized out of state after having had a near death COVID experience, the entire K-8 school I worked at, all made signs and wore shirts that had been made as a fundraiser for me and they lined up outside the school along the pick up line and the street and my mom drove me along the route as all the kids cheered, chanted, and waved when I returned home. The finale was my class at the end of the route and I got to get out and give them all elbow bump greetings.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience.
I think the most memorable moment as a teacher has to be when I was called, "grandma." Since I'm a guy, the class of third graders cracked up. The student in question simply shrugged and said, "Well, I love my grandma too." It made me feel like a million bucks. Who doesn't love and trust their grandma? I gave that child permission to call me grandma whenever she wanted. I ran into that student over ten years later. She just nodded and said, "What's up, grandma?" It made my day. She remembered.

Three wonderful teachers for the next generations.  Your vote for America's Favorite Teacher will also be your seal of approval for the work they do.

And Many Thanks to all the Teachers in every classroom, for all the effort invested.  We appreciate you.
