Montana Influence? Beetlejuice Will NOT Be Politically Correct
Have you heard about the new Beetlejuice movie coming out soon?
I'll get to the story from the headline...but first- which Michael Keaton character is your favorite?
Everybody always says Batman. But I gotta go with his character in "The Other Guys" with Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg. And then there's the classic Michael Keaton role as Beetlejuice.
Why is Michael Keaton's character in "The Other Guys" my favorite character he has played? During one of my military deployments overseas, the guys on my team would always joke around by using TLC song references. "Don't go chasin' waterfalls." And when an important mission was coming up- we don't need no scrubs.
Alright, so back to the story from the headline. For those who don't know, Keaton has had a home near Big Timber, Montana for several years. That, along with the fact that Beetlejuice was such a big hit when I was a kid, is partly why this story from The Daily Wire caught my eye.
Michael Keaton Promises Beetlejuice Character Won’t Be ‘Politically Correct’ In Sequel
In the story, The Daily Wire points out that Keaton describes Beetlejuice as "an 'it' but not because of society’s obsession with pronouns."
“He’s a thing. He’s more of a thing than a he or a she, he’s more of an it. And I’m not saying ‘it’ to be politically correct. I just viewed it as a force more than anything. I mean, there’s definitely strong male energy, like stupid male energy, which I love,” the actor explained. “You don’t want to touch that because it’s not like you go, ‘Well, it’s a new year and this thing would now act like that.’”
