I finally got to attend the Montana Pro Rodeo Hall and Wall of Fame Banquet this year in Billings, Montana. I ran into several of the same folks a few years ago during the World of Rodeo Reunion down in Las Vegas during the National Finals Rodeo.

What an event. Big thanks to organization President and world renowned Rodeo Announcer Brent Jordan for letting my wife and I attend. We got to meet some incredible rodeo families from all across Montana, and even ran into the popular actor Bill Pullman who was recognized at the event. His family has a ranch near Cardwell. It was also great running into Range Magazine publisher CJ Hadley, who was also recognized at the event.

There's something about rodeo that just screams freedom, patriotism, and faith. Scott Miller sent me the photo above as I was standing right next to the color guard while the event kicked off. What a powerful moment to see veterans and rodeo greats hoisting those flags high for the kickoff of the Montana Pro Rodeo Hall and Wall of Fame banquet.

I ran into fellow Army veteran and Carbon County Commissioner Scott Miller a little bit later and told him how great their color guard was that he's a part of. He told me that the group is part of a new "Combat Cowboys Honor Guard" that will be doing more events across the state.

Christine Miller shared this note and more photos via Facebook: "The combat cowboy honor guard made up of mostly veterans from the VFW and American Legion had the distinct honor of presenting the colors for the Montana Pro Rodeo Hall and Wall of Fame banquet. An amazing night was had by all."

Scott added this, "We had Deb Greenough join us as an honorary member and he carried the Home of Champions Rodeo(Red Lodge Rodeo)flag. It was great to have Deb represent a rodeo that his family helped build into a power house in the PRCA."
