Joe Satriani: Chickenfoot’s Next Studio Record Is ‘In The Pipeline’
We have some good news for you, Chickenfoot fans. Guitarist Joe Satriani has confirmed that the group's next studio record is "in the pipeline." The record will be their first studio effort since 2011's 'III.'
"We've all got demos and everyone is excited," Satriani said. "I don't know about a schedule though. That is still, as usual, in the chaotic Chickenfoot state."
Although it may dismay some to hear that a definitive release date has not yet been set, all should be forgiven when the people who make up the group are taken into account:
Chickenfoot frontman Sammy Hagar is prepping for the release of a new acoustic solo record ('Light Roast') but was also recently in the studio with Ted Nugent. Hagar appears on 'She's Gone,' a song that will be on Nugent's new record 'Shutup&Jam!' Along with Jason Bonham and Chickenfoot bassist (and his former Van Halen band mate) Michael Anthony, Hagar will be hitting the road for a series of shows dubbed 'History of Rock.'
Satriani hasn't exactly been sitting on his hands, either. He recently released a new book ('Strange Beautiful Music') as well as a box set encompassing his entire studio solo output.
Chickenfoot drummer Chad Smith (who also keeps time for the Red Hot Chili Peppers) recently engaged in a drum battle with actor Will Ferrell and is reportedly in the studio with the Chili Peppers working on the follow-up to 2011's 'I'm With You.'
