‘Jurassic Park 4′ Welcomes One of the ‘Kings of Summer,’ Nick Robinson
Well, it's officially happening: 'Jurassic Park 4,' titled 'Jurassic World,' is really assembling a cast, and the latest name to get attached is young actor Nick Robinson, who starred in 2013's 'The Kings of Summer.' Details on his character are scarce, but to paraphrase the great Ian Malcolm, we're sure he will be involved in plenty of running and screaming.
The news of Robinson's casting comes right on the heels of the word that Ty Simpkins and Bryce Dallas Howard were in the process of joining in lead roles, while Jake Johnson was eyeing another role. Although we know next to nothing about the plot of the film or the characters that inhabit it, The Hollywood Reporter says that Robinson will play the older brother to Simpkins' character. Does that mean Johnson and Howard would play their parents? We'd put good money on it.
It's interesting that Universal and director Colin Trevorrow appear to be eschewing big names when it comes to casting the film. After all, the 'Jurassic Park' name is big and iconic enough to bring in the crowds without an actual movie star. Although we wouldn't be surprised if a character or two from the previous three films pops up in smaller roles or cameos, 'Jurassic Park 4' definitely feels like it's going to attempt a clean start for the franchise, cutting ties with the past films and putting all of that money toward creating amazing dinosaurs instead of hiring expensive actors.
'Jurassic Park 4' is scheduled to hit theaters on June 12, 2015.
