As had been rumored for a while, Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj have both publicly confirmed that they are leaving 'American Idol' after this season, following the announcement that Randy Jackson was also retiring. This leaves Keith Urban as the last judge standing, though perhaps not for long.

After facing a steep decline in ratings during Season 12, 'American Idol' is looking to reinvent itself in Season 13. Not only has longtime Fox reality chief Mike Darnell left the network, but three of the four current judges have officially exited the program as well. Today it was Carey and Minaj, who -- as Variety points out -- announced their departure via Twitter. Here is Carey's announcement through her publicity firm:
