We’ll Soon Find Out What ‘Sex’ with Motley Crue Sounds Like
Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx has revealed that the band’s upcoming new single will be called ‘Sex,’ and that the stripped-down sound of the track harkens back to the band’s (fantastic) 1981 debut album ‘Too Fast for Love.’
In the best news we’re heard since the Crue and Kiss announced their co-headlining tour this summer, Sixx says that lately he has been writing songs with the sound of that now thirty year old record in mind. In fact, he told VH1 Radio, “That was definitely on purpose. I’ve been writing very simple riffs for the last year and focusing on how these riffs would work for Vince (Neil), basically, and took it in the studio with Tommy and Mick and the thing just came alive.”
‘Sex’ will be released prior to the upcoming trek with Kiss, and Sixx (or as some now call him, the “flavor injector“) promises they’ll also be playing the tune live. Motley Crue has also just unveiled their new official website, and Sixx’s bandmates Tommy Lee and Mick Mars will appear on tonight’s (March 21) edition of ‘Nightline.’
Sixx also took to Twitter to defuse any possible fan concern about what order the bands perform in on the upcoming tour. “Doesn’t matter who plays 1st or 2nd, It’s a double headliner from beginning to end.”
