Yes, the big election in November 2020 is still over a year away.  But it's not too soon to make sure you are a registered voter. In Montana, the deadline to register is 30 days before the election. If you want to brave the crowds and spend your valuable time waiting in line at the court house, you can also late register, even up to Election Day.

But seriously, why not just do it now and get your registration out of the way? The 2020 election is going to be pretty wild (I'm surprised we haven't started seeing campaign ads yet!), and if you register now it's one less thing you have to worry about come November next year.

In 2018 National Voter Registration Day helped 800,000 become registered voters. Remember the old saying... "if you don't vote, you can't complain about who wins."
