New Study Says ‘Angry Music’ Helps You To Relax
Looking to unwind after a long day? According to a new study, you might want to crank up some loud, fast, angry rock n roll. Researchers in Australia say listening to angry music may actually help people become calm and feel happier.
The study, which was recently published by the journal Frontiers in Human Neuroscience, examined fans of so called 'heavy music'. After recalling moments from their life that made them feel angry, test subjects were encouraged to listen to their favorite genre of music for 10 minutes.
According to the report, those who listened to 'heavy music' felt calmer, happier and inspired, in spite of the often dark themes presented in the music.
The next time you feel angry, don't take your frustration out on others. Instead, just crank up some metal for 10 minutes and allow the lyrical aggression to wash all over you in a wave of calm tranquility.
