North Dakota Woman Delivers Unsolicited Parenting Advice Instead of Candy This Year
One woman in North Dakota is making is making your child's weight her business on this year's Halloween. According to a report from USA Today this woman will be handing out letters instead of candy to this children she deems to be "moderately obese".
In a morning show radio interview she explained what she hopes to accomplish.
I just want to send a message to the parents of kids that are really overweight. ... I think it's just really irresponsible of parents to send them out looking for free candy just 'cause all the other kids are doing it,
The woman refused to be identified during the interview.
The note she plans to give to kids reads as follows:
"Your child is, in my opinion, moderately obese and should not be consuming sugar and treats to the extent of some children this Halloween season.
My hope is that you will step up as a parent and ration candy this Halloween and not allow your child to continue these unhealthy eating habits."
