Former Motörhead guitarist Phil Campbell is in the studio working on a solo album that looks likely to feature guest appearances from Judas Priest's Rob Halford, Slipknot drummer Chris Fehn and more.

Fehn shared the news of his work with Campbell on his Instagram account, where he posted a photo of the two together with a caption promising they were "recording some straight greasy s--- for everyone." Campbell shared the picture on his Facebook page, telling commenters that he's "looking to have a lot of guest vocalists" and still doesn't have a release date for the project.

Campbell will also be touring with his All Starr Band this year, and has announced a show in Tilburg 013, Holland, on April 29th, where fans will be treated to "a night full of Motörhead songs and a selection of Phil's favorite classic rock tracks."

He's also keeping busy with a new book project, which he recently revealed he'd started working on in earnest early this year. Predicting it'll be 2018 at the earliest before it's out, Campbell promised the book will be worth the wait for Motörhead fans seeking a humorous inside look at the band.

"I don’t want a film about my life; no way. I’m working on a book of the funny stuff," said Campbell. "I don’t want a life story; I just want the funny stuff. [It’s] gotta be documented, ’cause some of it’s pretty bizarre and unbelievable. It’s totally funny, though. [It’s a book about] my experiences. It’s what would normally not happen if you weren’t in this band."
