This isn't a story about a family-owned restaurant closing it's doors because it couldn't survive. Taqueria Zapotlan is a thriving restaurant, owned by the Torres family, who knows the most important thing IS the family.

After more than three years at their 2240 Grand Avenue location, the authentic Mexican food restaurant will have their last day of business on August 25.

The following message was posted on the entrance:

It's been a long time coming, unfortunately Taqueria Zapotlan will be closing mid-August. As very little people knew, but as of November 1st of last year my father had a stroke and has gone under a few surgeries. We are to the point that we need to do what's best for him. We want to thank everyone who has been supporting us. We really appreciate it. Thank you Billings!

Vanessa Torres did want to make it clear that their  "dad is not dying" and the family would not be staying in Montana. While they didn't give a location, she mentioned there are three different options where they may be moving.

Before they close August 25, do yourself a favor and pick up the best shrimp tacos in town with some homemade Horchata.
