Have you ever wondered what it would be like to drive Going To The Sun road, WITHOUT TRAFFIC? I can count on both hands how many times I have driven the road, and it has always been clogged with traffic. Not to mention the traffic jams that are caused by the mountain goats.

Glacier Park just recently announced a way to limit the amount of traffic on the scenic highway. Vehicles will now need reservations to drive the Going to the Sun Road.

According to the Glacier Park website

Day-use visitors who arrive by private vehicle or motorcycle must have an Entry Reservation Ticket and a current park pass when entering the park through the West and St. Mary Entrances, or via the Camas Road, between 6 am and 5 pm from May 28 to September 6, 2021. Please be prepared to show your reservation confirmation and photo ID at park entrance stations upon arrival.

Well, if you are a biker/hiker, Spring is your time to enjoy the park. Plus, the cyclists do not need a reservation to travel on the road. The Going to the Sun road has received it's yearly maintenance, and has been plowed. No motorized travel is allowed just yet, but that doesn't mean you can't bike it.

Get a POV look at what it would be like to descend one of America's most scenic roads, on a bike, with NO TRAFFIC! Pedaling up the road has got to be a grueling challenge. But, the ride down the road has got to be exhilarating. Just beware the mountain goats.
