Queen Tribute Show Bringing Two Hours of Rock Hits to Billings

Perhaps your first exposure to Queen was the famous scene from Wayne's World. Note to self: watch that movie again one of these days. Or maybe you were a longtime fan of the band and fondly remember purchasing their first album on vinyl or 8-track.

Queen is similar to Michael Jackson in the way that their music is cross-generational. As I wrote about MJ recently, my kids enjoy Queen as much as I do. Now, you get to relive the experience with Queen: It’s a Kinda Magic, the internationally acclaimed tribute that is coming to Billings on Sunday, September 27, at 7:30 PM.

The timing is pretty appropriate, too.

The tour arrives during renewed attention on Queen’s legendary music following the 50th anniversary of “Bohemian Rhapsody,” one of the most recognizable and influential songs in rock history.

Frontman Warren Vernon-Driscoll says performing a song as demanding as “Bohemian Rhapsody” in its original key night after night takes plenty of preparation, including countless hours of rehearsal and a serious focus on stamina.

Nothing but Queen hits for two hours.

The show promises a high-energy recreation of Queen’s iconic 1986 World Tour, along with plenty of other hits from the band's massive catalog. The roughly two-hour set includes “We Will Rock You,” “We Are the Champions,” “Somebody to Love,” “I Want to Break Free,” “Under Pressure,” “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” “Radio Ga Ga” and, of course, “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
