The Rolling Stones' '60s LPs are getting the reissue treatment this fall courtesy of a new box set that returns the albums to their original mono vinyl state.

The box, sensibly titled The Rolling Stones in Mono, is due to arrive via ABKCO on Sept. 30. Consisting of 15 CDs or 16 LPs, it rounds up the band's collected works from 1964-69 — including the U.S. and U.K. versions of Out of Our Heads and Aftermath — and adds an assortment of new extras, including a freshly assembled selection of single edits and EP cuts titled Stray Cats.

Offering 186 tracks in all — more than 50 of which haven't been digitally distributed in mono until now — the box will arrive in stores on CD and vinyl as well as a variety of digital formats, including TrueHD and Mastered for iTunes. The physical versions of the set also include a 48-page book that features a collection of rare photos and a 5,000-word essay from critic David Fricke.

The Rolling Stones in Mono, which is available for pre-order now, begins a busy fall for the band: They're booked to perform at the all-star Desert Trip festival in October, and their first studio album of new material in over a decade is rumored to arrive before the end of the year.
