I love a good demolition derby. I've always wanted to be a driver, which honestly seems like a pretty easy bucket list item to achieve (remind me to start working on that idea for next year). In the meantime, I'll be a spectator this year at the 4th Annual Shepherd Lions Club Demolition Derby happening Saturday, September 28.

This event is such a good time. Gates open at 11 am for spectators and demolition action starts a noon, rain or shine. I actually think the wet conditions this weekend will make for a better derby experience. No dust (bonus!) and less traction for the cars ought to make things pretty interesting.

Kids up to 12 are free, 13+ is $8 with food and beverage concessions on site. Maybe swing by the Feedlot Steakhouse before or after the derby. I haven't been out there in years and they have tasty food.
